| Our New York office has created a new website and refreshed the identity for Wert & Company. Wert & Company is a leading international executive search firm for ambitious entrepreneurs, award winning consultancies and Fortune 500 companies.
As with all ‘Search’ based situations it is always important that the search should be made as easy and straight forward as possible, sifting through many possibilities, culminating in the perfect result or in this case person. In this way we wanted to make the site extremely clean, simple and as easy to navigate as possible, while still presenting the firm as extremely creative and promoting excellence in executive search. The ampersand has been a key element of their identity in an orange circle for years. It reflects the collaborative process in which they work with their clients as well as suggesting what they do as a firm – Find people to add to a company! Wert & Company have built up a lot of equity in this mark and it is the perfect idea for the company so we wanted to maintain the symbol and just refresh it along with the typography. We suggested that instead of Wert & Company that the logotype should read Wert&Co. Much shorter, modern and more memorable. The web address was already wertco.com so this seemed to make sense. Then it seemed that one ampersand doesn’t really reflect the vast scope of searches the company does and individuals they come across and place in positions. Every individual is different as is each search so we created 50 different ampersands that are randomly loaded on the site and a different symbol can be used on Facebook, Twitter, business cards and brochure covers. The ampersand in an orange circle is such a strong identifying mark we feel changing the ampersand up each time will not dilute the presence of the brand and helps promote Wert and Company as a modern, forward thinking, creative and fun company to work with. Search is extremely serious but there’s always a little room for wit in an identity!
