Bamboomi is a logotype and typeface originally created for a child based web application.

I (Rob Duncan) have always been a fan of the typeface used in British Ladybird books from the 1970’s. Although similar to VAG or Helvetica Rounded it has a very unique charm in that it has extended ascenders and descenders and some really fun characters.

We wanted to use this typeface to create the wordmark but couldn’t find it anywhere, so with some samples we turned to Dowling Duncan friend and typographer Roger Taylor to create the typeface for us.

The result: A child friendly logotype and font with a bit more character and fun than you’d expect to see.
