Jantze Tullett is an artist who lives and breathes in Lincoln, working in different media using tools such as typewriters, paint, pencils, thread, screenprinting, letterpress and poetry amongst many other things. We were asked to produce a marque which somehow encompassed all of these elements and illustrated the versatility of Jantze’s work. We concentrated on the dot of the lowercase J and turned it into a cross, a kiss, a cross stitch, a typewriter x, a freehand x, a letterpressed x, an x that marks the spot. The marque allows itself to be stitched onto products and the letter J to be used in isolation, whilst still obviously belonging to Jantze. See more of Jantze’s work on her website, designed by Barrie Tullett, friend of Dowling Duncan who was recently profiled in Baseline magazine. |
